Cherie and Patrick, Friday 8th September 2017 , Wedding at All Manor of Events, Henley.
Some wedding days seem to tell their own story, and this celebration at All Manor of Events was one of them.
From the moment I arrived, there was a real sense of excitement in the air. The morning preparations were full of anticipation, laughter, and those quiet moments that often become some of the most treasured memories of the day. While final touches were being made indoors, the rain gently fell outside, creating a beautifully atmospheric backdrop. One of my favourite moments from the morning was seeing the bride standing beneath a clear umbrella outside the lodge while the finishing touches of hair and makeup continued inside – a perfect reminder that a little rain never gets in the way of a wedding day.
The weather may have been unpredictable, but the smiles certainly weren't. Guests began arriving in great spirits, greeting one another with hugs, handshakes and plenty of laughter. The arrival of the wedding party brought a real buzz of excitement, with the bridesmaids carefully gathering dresses and bouquets as they made their way towards the ceremony.
The bridal entrance was a beautiful moment. Walking into the ceremony room with family by her side, the bride looked incredible in her elegant lace gown, carrying a vibrant bouquet that added a lovely pop of colour against the soft tones of the venue. As always, there was that unmistakable reaction from the groom when he saw his bride for the first time – a mixture of pride, excitement and emotion that never gets old to witness.
The ceremony itself was relaxed, heartfelt and full of genuine smiles. Surrounded by family and friends, the couple exchanged vows before moving on to one of the most anticipated moments of the day – the rings. The expressions between them during the exchange said everything. There was a real sense of connection, and it was clear to everyone in the room just how much this moment meant.
Once officially married, the newlyweds shared their first kiss to warm applause from their guests. The atmosphere throughout the ceremony was wonderful, with family and friends completely invested in every moment.
After the formalities, we headed outside to make the most of the venue's beautiful grounds. The rain had eased, leaving behind soft light that photographers dream about. We spent some time capturing relaxed portraits around the property, taking advantage of the tree-lined pathways, rustic buildings and open countryside surroundings.
The couple were completely natural together in front of the camera. Rather than focusing on posed photographs, we created images that reflected their personalities and relationship. Whether they were sharing a quiet smile, laughing together or simply enjoying a few moments away from the celebrations, every photograph felt authentic to them.
The wedding party joined us for a few group photographs, and it was easy to see how much fun everyone was having. Coordinated navy suits, soft pastel dresses and colourful bouquets worked beautifully together, creating a timeless and elegant look throughout the gallery.
As the day continued, the changing weather brought something unexpected. Dramatic clouds rolled across the countryside, creating an incredible backdrop for some final portraits. The contrast between the dark sky and the couple standing together in the landscape produced some truly memorable images and gave the day an almost cinematic finish.
Looking back through the photographs, what stands out most isn't the weather, the venue or even the beautiful styling. It's the connection between two people surrounded by those who matter most to them. From the emotional ceremony to the laughter shared throughout the day, this wedding was a wonderful celebration from beginning to end.
Congratulations again to Cherie and Patrick. Thank you for allowing me to be part of such a special day and for trusting me to capture these memories for you. Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness together.
