Advice - Rainy Wedding days
Let's face facts, nobody wants rain on their wedding day ! But we do live in England so chances of a spot or two are fairly high, to be totally honest Photographers hate a rainy wedding day too but that's where you have to use your experience and skills over the years to create some unique images. When booking your venue try to have a look around and ask if they have a bad weather back up, most do, and if your photographer has worked at the venue before or at least had a look around before they will have a backup in their minds to capture family photos and creative portraits indoors. Of course getting actually outside in the rain makes for some amazing photos, every decent photographer should have at least a couple of umbrellas that are wedding friendly in the boot of their car just in case.
I always check and double check the weather forecast on the Met Office's website the day before and if there is a chance of rain I will check the weather rain map before I set off to leave for the prep part of the day, this also gives you a fairly good idea of how to plan your wedding day, maybe there is a clear spell between 2 and 4 pm etc so you can let everyone enjoy the wedding day with that back up plan to quickly get out and get the photos done.
One thing to keep in mind is that around 80% of a normal wedding day is done inside, the prep, the service ( unless of course you have a outdoor ceremony ) , the speeches, the meal and the night time party.
So main advice is to bury that sausage ! still have no idea what that is supposed to do but it's a bit of fun and if the weather is good you have a story to tell everyone. Embrace the weather, it will be what it will be, and enjoy your day and evening.
