A little bit about me, coming from a very creative background I made a very big decision in my life and that was to finally leave my job as a Civil Engineer and to go full time as a photographer, so Heffs Photography was born.I guess you could say I came through the hard knocks route in photography, basically, I photographed everything I could, every event I could get into, my friends and family to get where I am today. Of course, none of it would be possible without the support of my beautiful wife and family, and to the wonderful people who believed and encouraged my imagery and have helped to spread the word about me.

After photographing Motor Sports and events for a number of years I then moved on to running my own home studio, in 2011 I had the pleasure of photographing my first Wedding and I soon realised that I had finally found the genre that I loved the most.Since then I have had the privilege of capturing over 200 professional Weddings.

It's such an honour to be choosing by a couple who have the trust and faith in your ability to capture their big day for them. I photograph in a very natural and documentary style which allows a Wedding to flow it's own course, in fact, it's only about 45 minutes of your Wedding day I have to take control and that is for the formal and portrait parts. This allows people to enjoy the celebrations and I will capture all of the action as it unfolds.

At the same time, I discovered a brand new camera by Fuji, when I photographed using film, Fuji products were always my first choice for film and printing. Shooting with big DSLR's both Canon and Nikon systems for years had left me uninspired and the thought of carrying my own body weight in cameras and lenses wasn't one I looked forward too when I went to work. To be honest the Fuji X100 when first released was a pig of a camera to focus but every time I picked it up it made me smile and I felt a connection not only to it but also to my photography. It made me want to pick it up every day.
In the world of photography the mirrorless systems are in their infancy but in my opinion, they are the future. Fuji have come on leaps and bounds and I have moved from using the x100T, X-E2 and X-T1 models to now using two X-PRO2's for all of my work. Every image you see on this website is taken with these cameras and I'm guessing you can tell that I'm passionate about them and Fuji as a company who listen to photographers and provide constant improvements based on our feedback.

Using a rangefinder style of camera body allows me to connect with my subject more, they can see my face so as my Grandfather always said a smile will always invoke a smile. Always as a camera geek they are cool looking cameras but don't be fooled by their retro design as inside them is one of the most advanced cameras on the market today. They make people ask about what I am using and start a conversation, in my world, this is a great thing as it's a lot easier to photograph people when you actually get to know them a little bit first.

I have always had a philosophy in life and that's to stay thankful and humble to all those for put faith in me, I am looking forward to meeting you all and to spending many more years capturing special moments.
